Welcome to Northwind Aviation!
Northwind Aviation has been a family-owned company since the beginning. Based in Homer Alaska, it was founded founded by Jose de Creeft in 1992. He operated this Northwind with his family until 2020 when it was purchased by Scott Jackson and Destination Alaska. The Jacksons took on the local legacy that Northwind was and have continued to expand it into the air carrier service it is today. Owned by the parent company Destination Alaska Adventure Co., Northwind services all of the expeditions and adventures pertaining the Aviation. Check out our fleet below!
About the Parent Company!
Destination Alaska Charters is a dream come true for the Jackson Family. Scott Jackson grew up hunting, fishing, and trapping in the north woods of Maine. From ages 18-21, he attended college and completed a B.S. degree in aircraft maintenance and operations. Barb (Pond) Jackson grew up in Greenville, South Carolina where she and Scott would eventually meet in college. Married at age 23, Scott and Barb moved to Homer, Alaska where Scott worked for a local air taxi, flying and fixing bushplanes on a daily basis and Barb worked as a nurse for South Peninsula Hospital. Brandon and Chris are Homer, Alaska born and have spent hundreds of days on Kachemak Bay and Cook Inlet helping visitors catch salmon, rockfish, and halibut. Over the course of 20+ years, Scott, Barb, Brandon, and Chris have successfully guided and taught outdoor skills to nearly 1100 individuals in New Hampshire, Alaska, and Maine. Scott states "Destination Alaska allows us to combine our passion for the outdoors and our love for sharing Alaska. We are truly blessed". The Jackson family is thrilled to have the opportunity to show their guests just how amazing Alaska can be.

Safety Record!
Northwind Aviation has operated floatplanes in Homer with a flawless safety record for 30 years! Our pilots are well-trained and experienced in the backcountry. They are experts of aviation, Alaska's weather, and bear behavior/safety. Additionally, our planes are maintained and regularly serviced to the highest standard!
